Summer Camp News 2025 for ALL camps at Sun Star Farm….

The #1 Question I get is “Will there be Jordan Lake Boating Camp in 2025?”

Sort of…

1) For The Oaks (age 9-12) the BEST of "Sun Star Farm Camp" merges with the BEST of "Jordan Lake Boating Camp!"
 

At Farm Camp, the Oaks learn about and care for our adorable farm animals, do archery, creek stomp, build campfires, play games and more.

AND two days each week we go to Jordan Lake to fish, kayak, SUP paddle-board, explore islands and more on the two best forecasted weather days of week.
 

  • Oak campers are with their same Oak counselors during Lake Days plus Captain Don!

  • Just an easy 4 minutes down the road in our camp van.

  • We base in amazing spots and fishing holes away from busy public areas.

  • Safety First: All campers wear life jackets while at the lake, all day - period. Life guard counselors join us.

  • 11 years of the Jordan Lake Boating Camp experience jammed into two incredible days, plus loads of Farm Camp fun throughout the week!

2) For the younger age groups, Sun Star Farm Camp 2025 is offered in the same format as this past summer.  Fun weekly themes, games, songs, crafts, TONS of animal time plus time to just be a kid “unplugged from the digital world.”


3) Tinkering School NC will be in the same small-group format for ages 9-12: Building large-scale, collaborative open-ended projects using real tools!  Spots fill fast.

4) NEW 2025:  “Forest Tinkering Camp,” where your age 9-12 camper will learn new skills and how to make fun, useful, cool things in our shady forest based out of our new shelter in the woods by the creek.  The focus is more on individual projects and skills, such as:
 

  • Flint-knapping to make arrowheads

  • Building and testing water filters (we don't actually drink it)

  • Making and testing fishing nets

  • Making rope

  • Whittling with a pocket knife

  • Becoming proficient at fire starting from scratch, (i.e. no matches or llghters)

  • Building a survival shelter

  • Cooking over a campfire

  • Picture this week as living in an “old-time pioneering village”
